Cold Feet

Cold Feet

I’ve got a bad case of cold feet. Not the kind you get when you’re about to make a life-changing decision, but literal cold feet. I’ve read it’s part of this new abbreviation I’ve been given, MCTD. It’s known as Raynaud’s Phenomenon. It’s a coldness in your hands, feet, and sometimes your nose. It’s a cold that feels impossible to turn off. When I finally get my feet warm, they’re HOT. Hot is something I’m more familiar with. I have always lived with a lower required setting on my air conditioner than most. As hot natured as they come. And I don’t sweat, I melt. Seriously.  It’s a rather embarrassing trait for a woman. I’m usually the only Mom at the kid’s football games who looks like I’ve just stepped out of the shower. I love football and watching my kids on the field is one of the most enjoyable parts of my life. But the weather doesn’t get in its sweet spot for me until the season is nearly over. I need to invest in some handkerchief’s this year because the paper towel or napkin I’ve used in years passed can make things a lot more embarrassing. See, I use said napkins to wipe the boiling sweat from my face. I blot my scalp with them, hands, arms, you name it. But these flimsy napkins start to disintegrate and leave dingleberries on my face. Suffice it to say, this cold intolerance thing is very problematic for me. My feet can be stone cold, but I’m still hot. And this is new to me. Cold has always been desirable for me. Now it’s not, but neither is hot. I now experience being hot and cold simultaneously. I’m such a multi-tasker. Admirable huh?

I’m going to end this post and see if my newly purchased heating pad can fix my cold feet and left you with a picture of my big toe in its current color. It will change once these dogs warm up, but green toes just aren’t normal.
